The 2009 International Building Code is a volume which has great source of information and it is an excellent reference tool for all the engineers, code officials, plans examiners, architect and everyone else who has some knowledge about the 2009 IBC. Each chapter is written with enough care to give proper knowledge about the topic, it begins with general comments then there is a section which states the purpose of writing this chapter then there is the code and commentary for it with tables and figure for explanation purpose. It is very useful for those people who want to adhere to the international standards.

There are many volumes of the 2009 International Building Code, one is Commentary:  2 Volume, then Code and Commentary: volume 1, then Code and Commentary: volume 2.

The volume 1 will give a complete reference for regulations in chapters 1 through 15 and volume 2 for chapters 16 through 35 of the 2009 IBC. These chapters will give you a clear understanding of the codes that have been adopted by many states like around 50 states. These codes are being adopted for the many of the public service buildings like the National park service then Forest services then Veterans Administration and many others.
